Jazz Band

When the marching season draws to a close, students are given the opportunity to explore various jazz styles and techniques by participating in one of  the Crestwood Jazz groups. Jazz Band is typically an auditioned group that participates in some festivals, competitions, and local events. This group uses traditional Big Band Jazz instrumentation of saxes, trumpets, trombones, drums, bass, piano, vibes, and guitar. 

The Jazz Combo is a group that may include traditional and non-traditional instruments. This group plays at local events and venues. Students do not need to audition for this group. The Jazz Combo usually practices one time per week for about an hour.  (3:40 to 4:30 PM on Tuesdays)

The Jazz Band typically rehearses two morning a week (usually 7:00 to 8:00 AM), as well as an after school or evening sectional or full group practice.
