The core of the Crestwood band program is the Concert Band, made up of 9th through 12th grade students. Students rehearse daily and present public concerts throughout the year. The band also participates in annual clinics and regularly provides music for school assemblies.
The Concert Band is the focus of the entire band program. It is the setting in which the students will be exposed to the greatest amount of musical expression, terminology, theory, history and other applicable aspects of being a musician. The literature performed by this ensemble is of the highest quality. All band students are required to participate in this ensemble and will be seated according to placement auditions held after Marching Band has ended. Additional sectionals or band rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the year. Daily rehearsals for this ensemble are built into the school day schedule.
This ensemble performs an average of three concerts per academic year, as well as IHSMA State Large Group Festival in May.
