The Beethoven Medal is given to a student who has demonstrated significant and profound musical abilities, as well as a deep dedication to their art through continual intense practice and in the seeking out of opportunities to refine and showcase their talents.
The Handel Medal recognizes a student whose profound leadership skills have most significantly impacted their ensemble and the Music Department as a whole.
The Jellenick Medal is the Horace Mann Music Department’s highest honor, and it is only given out in years when there is a student worthy of receiving it. The Jellenik Medal is awarded to a student who has distinguished themself as an outstanding leader, musician, and performer. The recipient also must have taken and excelled in multiple Music Appreciation and Music Performance courses within Horace Mann's Music Department.
