The Randal Castleman Prize in English is given annually to a student or students in celebration of their demonstrated love of literature and earnest engagement with literary life here at Horace Mann School. The Castleman prize is named in honor of the memory of our beloved former Horace Mann Librarian, English teacher, and Dean, Randal Castleman: a talented, deeply devoted teacher who exemplified the passion for literature and the spirit of inquisitiveness that we hope to instill in all of our students.
