Mrs. White is the AP Coordinator at Hoover High School, but she also teaches Virtual Spanish 1 and IB Spanish SL as well.
She started studying Spanish in high school and has always loved it and gravitated towards the classes. This was cemented once she started doing study abroad programs, with my first one being when she was 16 years old. She graduated from Jackson Hole High School in Wyoming before going to Auburn in 2002 and I received a bachelor's in Spanish in 2006. After She started teaching Spanish full time at Hewitt-Trussville High School she went back to UAB for a Master's in English as a Second Language. After completing her Master's she almost immediately began an EdS at Jacksonville State University. She has been teaching for 17 years, 10 of those being at Hoover High School.
"As the AP Coordinator, I organize the testing days and all that that entails. For example, I bring in proctors to give exams, schedule the locations to be available and set up, and communicate necessary information to faculty, staff, and students. If students have scheduling conflicts, require testing accommodations, or need help with navigating AP classroom, I am here to help. I can be reached at sywhite@hoover.k12.al.us and my office is located in D243. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything or have questions regarding AP Testing."
