"Drawing is a college-level exploration of mark-making in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and/or digital art that addresses the student’s interpretation of drawing issues and media. Students spend the year creating a final portfolio based on an in-depth investigation of an art idea the student would like to explore. The portfolio must show high quality of work, imaginative skill, and broad mastery of visual design concerns. In all, the AP Art and Design students must develop and apply skills of inquiry and investigation, practice, experimentation, revision, communication, and reflection.
This course is for seniors and requires hard work both in and out of class. Good time management skills, as well as, self-disciple are required since this class is ultimately a student independent study, not a teacher-centered learning environment. A very minimum of five hours a week of work outside the classroom is expected."
Please note that if you have not taken Art 1 and Art 2, Mrs. McGrann advises you talk to her before registering for this course.
