Class Teachers play an important role in nurturing students' social-emotional development. They act as a bridge to facilitate home-school collaboration and are the key to students' success in life and learning. Not only they are facilitators, mentors, and mediators, more importantly, they are also role models for children’s positive growth. By initiating development to their growth of mindset, students are learning to appreciate, to trust and to praise themselves and others. Class teachers are like children’s parents at school. We aim to establish a loving, caring atmosphere and a safe, appreciating platform for our students to fly, to move forward, and to shine. Class teachers will take you through an amazing journey this year.
Children, are you ready to meet your class teachers?

Ms. Jackie Chong
Senior Vice Principal (Head of Primary Division)
The smiles from the students never fail to warm my heart and are the fuel that drives me to continue on my teaching path.
The students in A-School are incredibly loved as our teaching staff strive to provide the best to them, academically and emotionally.
This A-Moment site is the concerted effort by our professional team of teachers. I hope it can serve as an informative platform for parents and students to connect to all things A-School.

Speak good words
Think good thoughts
Do good deeds
Be good to others
We learn to use our eyes for appreciation, our voice for kindness, our ears for compassion, our hands for charity, our minds for truth, and our hearts for love. May we work hand in hand to cultivate a loving school environment with our kindness.
A-School will be the reason we smile every day…^^

Greetings! I'm Mrs. Pradhan and I'm absolutely ecstatic to be teaching what promises to be yet another glorious year at A-school. Yet another year of wonderful discussions, exciting learning and my favourite activity - reading awaits us. I'm blessed to be in a school filled with the laughter of confident, happy children, and to be surrounded by like-minded teachers who always put students' well-being above all.
My favourite quote is by philosophist Alvin Toffler - 'The illiterates of the 21st century are not the ones who cannot read or write. They are the ones who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn'.
Mrs. Winnie Pradhan
Assistant Principal (Curriculum & Quality Assurance)
Welcome back! I'm Ms Cho, let me give you an invisible gift and you can have it everyday. Let's spend a moment to think about those who have helped you become who you are today. Remember how important they are to you and spare one minute of your time to think about them.
At this moment, my heart dances with joy because I think of every individual in A-School. Distance does not matter when we are grateful to have each other. Let's "Flourish with a Growth Mindset" together in A-school!
Miss Cho Siu Yee
Deputy Head of Student Development
Hi everyone, I'm Miss Yiu! Teaching English and maintaining discipline are my main roles in A-School.
How was your summer holidays? I hope you had a blast even though travelling overseas was out of the picture! I've picked up pilates during the summer and have challenged myself to exercise every single morning. My progress has been pretty good so far!
Soon, I'll be stepping into my 12th year in A-School. What an awesome ride it has been! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you and I'll be welcoming you with a big smile!
My beloved students, remember to always maintain an appetite of having a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for developing a growth mindset!

Hi everyone, this is Miss Wu. I teach Mathematics. I like playing games with my students and I'm into puzzles and riddles. Let's learn and enjoy learning together.
New year brings new riddles! Here, I have three riddles for you.
You are given 3 numbers. You can add these numbers and multiply them together. The result you get will be the same. What are the numbers?
What can you put between a 7 and an 8 so that the result is greater than a seven, but less than an eight?
Using only addition, how can you add eight 8's to get to 1000?
Enjoy! You are welcome to email your answers to me.

Hi, this is Mr William Luk from the STEAM team of A-School. How's your holiday?
I participated as a judge in an international App Hackathon competition this summer. The theme of the event is "A Global Appathon for Good." The event encourages young kids to create an app that will empower their fellow citizens in their community and give the world a hopeful vision of a better tomorrow.
I tried their mobile apps and watched the presentations of these young innovators from all over the world. Their wide range of concerns consists of Climate Change, Poverty, Health Care, Learning and Working Remotely and Social Impacts of Artificial Intelligence. I was deeply impressed by their effort and awareness of these issues!
All these might seem unfamiliar to you, but actually, they are around you every day. Therefore, I hope every student in A-School will aspire to be a Global Citizen starting from this coming school year!

Hello my dear boys and girls! I'm Miss Cherry Wong. What have you been doing in summer holiday? Did you watch the Tokyo Olympics and cheer for our elite athletes? It was so exciting and inspiring to see them compete with all their hearts and minds even sometimes when they were not in the lead. Did you pick up something new? I'm a big crafter who loves doing DIY projects. This summer, I have picked up crotcheting. I'm making a tote bag for carrying all my lesson materials. My tote bag is half-done. Let me show off my new DIY project when we meet!
On another note, how do you feel about the coming year? Do you feel excited and a bit nervous? You may be thinking to yourself, 'Miss Wong, why do you ask?' Because that is exactly how I feel! For the coming year, I'm going to be teaching upper-grade English, taking up the role of Coordinator of Academic Support as well as helping out in OLE. Although a lot of the things are new to me, I'm pretty sure I'll be just fine because I have the most wonderful and loving work family - A-School!
Can't wait to see you all and have a long hearty chat!

Hi, boys and girls! What have you been doing during the summer holiday?
This summer I spent time with my little ones and explored different places in Hong Kong. Although we didn’t have a chance to travel overseas, I was surprised that there are actually a lot of special places that we could visit.
Other than outdoor activities, I also spent time at home reading. Sometimes I read for leisure, other times I read with my children. I read to them, we read together or they read to me. There are many ways to share a book.
I look forward to seeing you all at A-School and reading together!
Ms. Annie Chan

Hi students, this is Mr Eugene Cheung from the STEAM team of A-School. I am looking forward to seeing you again, especially students from 5C as I was their class teacher last year.
This summer, I have spent time with my family and went for a staycation. Furthermore, I also went for a dance performance involving my daughter. Last but not least, I stayed tuned with the competitions of the Olympic Games on the TV where I paid extra attention to table tennis.
In my spare time, I will explore some fun games or useful apps. Also, I like to disassemble different kinds of things to know how they work. Sometimes, I will even look for useful information online to fix some minor problems in my car.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the coming September!
Mr. Eugene Cheung
Coordinator of IT Administration
Dear parents and dear students,
My name is Karsten Berning and I have the honor of teaching German at HKBUAS. This year I will be the class teacher for the 5E. In addition to my duties as a class teacher, I am also the Coordinator of Student Advancement and Support (SAS). I would like to help to build-up the capacity of current and potential leadership in A-School students by equipping them with knowledge, habits and skills in leadership.
In my free time I like to go swimming, hiking or other sporting activities with my family. If I find the time, I also like to read philosophical books and discuss the contents with Mr. Marcus Lee.
We'll see each other soon and I hope that we will have a lot of fun in the coming year, but that we will also learn a lot together.
