Leadership Sharing (Tang Ho Yui 6B)
1. What is your definition of a leader?
To me, the definition of a leader is someone who is honest, supportive and courageous. Leaders should help people to reach their full potential. They should also be able to influence and guide others to succeed in their goals.
2. You have joined the Prefect Team for 2 years. How is a prefect like a leader?
I have joined the Prefect team for 2 years. I think it is amazing because I got the chance to help other people like I have never been able to before. It is generally an honor to be able to join the Prefect team once again!
3. Why do you think leadership skills are important for you in the future?
I think leadership skills are important because it benefits you by boosting your confidence and giving you a sense of responsibility which leads you to success.

15 September 2021 - Sharing on Sense of Responsibility by Mr. Neil Stewart and 6D Moody
Moody, "In A-School, responsibility is important. As a member of the school, we have to maintain the responsibility to keep our school safe. How do we maintain responsibility? It's simple! As students, we should go to school on time and be polite to our teachers and classmates. We also need to go back to our classroom immediately when the bell rings. Our teachers take the responsibility of keeping students safe. Sometimes, we have difficulties understanding homework, or sometimes we suddenly feel sick and need to go back home. At times like these, our teachers take the responsibility to help us. Remember, if we all take responsibility, we will be able to build a brighter future together"
Mr. Stewart, "Being responsible is a key to success both in school and when we grow up. Responsibility is not the same as obedience. We are obedient to our parents and teachers in the sense that we follow directions. This is important and necessary, but it is not responsibility.
Responsibility requires more than obedience. With responsibility, there is a sense in which we accept ownership of the tasks we face and our duties. We do something because it needs to be done rather than because we have been told to do it. We accept that we have a duty to do something. Although it may not always be as straightforward or simple as obedience, responsibility is different in that it creates a feeling of pride in our accomplishments.
Sometimes parents and teachers must step back to allow students to learn to take responsibility for themselves. We see this in students as they move from Grade 1 to Grade 6. Sometimes, of course, teachers and parents must step in to provide guidance, support, and information to help teach us about our responsibilities. This process takes several years and involves many different approaches. But its success can be seen when we compare Grade 1 or 2 students to Grade 5 or 6 students.
Our parents constantly struggle with being kind and loving to us whilst also helping us develop responsibility. It is our parent's total love for us that gives us the feeling of safety to take risks, make mistakes and develop into responsible adults. Likewise, it is the boundary setting and rulemaking of our parents and teachers that imposes discipline on us and teaches us how to behave, gives us guidance and passes on their values to us. "
14 September 2021 - Morning Prayer (Mr. Rudolf Tsang and 2B Raisie)
Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have given us. You have provided us with more than we could ever have imagined. You have given us families and friends who bless us every day with kind words and actions.
Also, thank you, Lord, for keeping us safe. You help us make better choices, and you have provided us with advisors that help us with difficult decisions. You speak to us in so many ways so that we always know you are here.
And Lord, we are just so grateful for all of your blessings in our lives. We pray that you remind us of just how lucky we are. After all, thank you for our lives, and all the ups and downs that make our lives worth living.
Thank you, Lord. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

by Ms. Ivy Yip & 6E Cheung Tsz Yau
Ms. Yip: What do you want to be in the future?
Tsz Yau: I want to be a farmer in the future because, actually, I am a person who loves to get close to nature. It makes me feel relaxed.
Ms. Yip: Why? It's a job which requires so much hard work!
Tsz Yau: I think that being a farmer is very great. If there are no farmers in the world to help us to plant our food, then we will need to do it ourselves.
Ms. Yip: You have performed very well in lessons. What are some tips to do it well?
Tsz Yau: I think that the most important thing is that you should know your responsibilities. I am a student, so I should follow what a proper student should do and concentrate well in class. Also, you need to do the right things at the right time, which is what we call "work hard and play hard". Even if I play, I would also play with as much enjoyment as I can.
Ms. Yip: Sometimes if you have to study subjects or join activities you don't like, how would you adjust your mood?
Tsz Yau: Actually, the things I don't really like are things that are mostly the ones that make me feel nervous, for example, exams. However, you must finish it. You cannot escape from it. So when I feel nervous, I will think of something happy and fun to do after the exam that can reduce my pressure, such as drawing. It makes me feel relaxed. Other than that, I hope I can rest up well before the exam.
Ms. Yip: Thank you for your sharing.
Tsz Yau: Thank you!

Dear Lord,
Thank you for today.
Thank you for the gift of our summer holidays. We thank you for the time with our families.
Thank you for the ways in which you provide for us all. For Your protection and love, we thank you.
Lord, every day is a gift. Every school day is an opportunity to meet friends and to gain knowledge. Let us never lose sight of how blessed we are here in A-School.
Inspire us by Your Holy Spirit as we listen and write.
Guide us by your eternal light as we discover more about the world around us.
Help us to focus our hearts and minds now on what we are about to learn.
Once again, we thank you Lord.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
