Each year, Hingham Middle School invites every student to read one book. The intention of the One Book, One School program is to invite every student, every adult who works in the building, and HMS family member to read the same book. Doing so will unite a community with a story, an idea, a theme, a unit of study. The book is chosen in the spring by committee, read over the summer, and celebrated throughout the school year. The book determines the theme of the year and becomes the focus of activities, events, and learning opportunities in different content areas.
