One Book, One HMS

Community summer Read

Each year, Hingham Middle School invites every student to read one book. The intention of the One Book, One HMS program is so every student, adult who works in the building, and HMS family member are all united with one book - a story, an idea, a theme, a unit of study. The chosen book is chosen in the spring, read over the summer, and celebrated throughout the school year. The book becomes the focus of activities, events, and learning opportunities in different content areas.

The following "Suitcase Stories" are true stories of the immigrant and refugee experience: a fascinating companion to our book.

If you missed the event on May 10, 2018 at Derby Academy, you can watch the videos here.

Refugee author, Alan Gratz does school visits! Follow this link to read more. Let's try to raise $3000 this summer to have him come visit HMS!
