2021: The Red Bandanna

May 2021: HMS is thrilled to bring back OBOS! Last year, we had to table our plans for a community read, but this year we are thrilled to introduce a book that we have been waiting until this year to bring to our community... The Red Bandanna!

It's important to note that the book that is chosen is specifically the edition that is Adapted for Young Readers (the blue cover).

The Red Bandanna is the true story of a 9/11 civilian hero. Where is the hero within you? What do you want your legacy to be?

Here is a link to the notetaking template. Use this as you read the book, and turn it in to your ELA teacher in September.
