Spring 2017: The new title for the second annual All-School Read is World Without Fish, by Mark Kurlansky. The committee decided on a different genre this year - a fascinating, informational book that has a fictional graphic story woven throughout the text.
Students, grade 6-8, all participated in WWF Day on November 1. Activities crossed content areas, and lessons focused on the theme of SUSTAINABILITY.
Topics covered included:
the plastic ocean
how dams affect fish population
one fish, two fish: cause and effect activity
math study of Atlantic Cod catches
Boyan Slat, an 18 year old environmental entrepreneur
