Advocates for Student Privacy
Teaches and promotes student data and privacy through his or her instruction and role as an educational leader.
Advocate for student privacy in using web resources. Promote understanding of FERPA & COPPA .
Work with IT department to encourage student data and privacy are top priority.
Monitor usages of all resources both print and digital to ensure library dollars maintain high impact on student learning; while fully supporting and encouraging students to be avid readers by choice.
Teach Digital Citizenship skills and common digital language through the use of Neptune Navigate for grades 3 - 12.
Increase understanding among staff, students, and parents about the privacy laws.

Work with the IT Department and technology team to evaluate usage agreements of digital media, apps, extensions and websites to ensure providers are adhering to CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act), COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule) , FIRPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), PPRA (Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment), and have agreements on file with W.S.P.A. (Wisconsin Student Privacy Alliance). In addition to understanding the Terms of Service of each service provider with respect to W.S.P.A.
Continue to educate ourselves further on the many laws surrounding student data and privacy issues.
Continually build and aggregate tools and materials on AI for both students and staff and educate on the best practices and dangers of AI with relationship to Intellectual Freedom.
