Students in all year groups would ordinarily start school at 8:30am with morning registration beginning at 8:40am. Due to COVID we have introduced a staggered arrival time and dismissal time to the school day. Students are expected to be punctual and to attend school regularly. More information about attendance expectations can be found in our attendance policy.
Years 10,11,12 and 13 will arrive at school at 8.30am for line up procedures.
Lesson 1 begins at 8.40am.
Year 12 & 13 are not required to line up. They will enter the building via the terrace and the canteen entrance doors. Here they will be met by their heads of year and sixth form staff. At the 8.40am bell, Y12 and 13 students will make their way to their first lesson where their teacher will take the AM register.
Year 11 will line up on the concourse at the front of the school and will enter through reception. In adverse weather they will line up in the main hall. Lesson 1 teachers will meet their year 11 class on the lines at 8.35am, escort them to their lesson, take the register and begin teaching.
Year 10 will line up in the playground on the lines nearest to PE. In adverse weather conditions they will line up in the sports hall. Lesson 1 teachers will meet their year 10 class on the lines at 8.35am, escort them to their lesson, take the register and begin teaching.
Students must remove coats, scarves, earphones and any other outside items before they reach the main doors.
Gates will open 10 minutes before the scheduled start time and close at 8.40am .
Students who arrive late will enter the school via the top gate and go to reception. They will be signed in and sent to their class.
The AM register will be taken by the class teacher at the start of the students’ first lesson. All absences will be followed up.

Students should not hang around the corridors at the end of the day.
If students are attending a club or an intervention then they must go to designated location at the end of the day.
Students in daily whole school detention should go straight to their detention at the end of their last lesson.
