Lesson 9- Spatial Inequalities

This week we will be doing Lesson 9- Spatial Inequalities in Mexico City.  In this lesson, you will learn about the growth of Mexico City as an urban area. You will read about the causes and effects of the city’s rapid growth. You will also learn about the spatial inequality that has resulted from the city’s expansion. We will also be looking at the Explore section of this unit.  The explore section will focus on key factors used to analyze economic data.  We will use the CIA worldfactbook to help use with this.  The test this week will be on Friday.  This week's webpage. 

The work for the week will be to complete the chart on the explore page, one edpuzzle, and a class companion writing assignment completed in class.  

This week's essential questions will be:

1. Why do spatial inequalities exist in cities?

2. What are the key factors that determine economic health of a country/city/territory?

3. I can to evaluate the standard of living based of a country based on GDP and other factors.

Wisconsin State Standard that will be the focus of the lesson is

 Econ3.c.m Define Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and compare the GDP of different nations.

• Thursday - Writing assignment done in class on Economic Data factors - Review and study for test- Writing assignment done in class
