Creating a New Quick Test Key

Creating a New Quick Test Key can be used for CFAs.

With the new consolidated look teachers will select Create a New Quick Test Key from the left panel under Assessment Options while in the Assessments tab in Aware.

The test key is now done in three steps:

  1. Type the title, select the subject, assign a grade level, adjust default performance level percentages (it is recommended to mirror your meets and master requirements for STAAR tested subjects), and click on "ADD A COURSE" to select your course (if it doesn't populate for you), and click "EDIT CAMPUSES" (if it doesn't populate for you). Click "BUILD QUICK KEY" at the bottom.
  2. If numerical or constructed response question types need to be added to your key, click Add Rule then select the desired type. The griddables and score ranges can be formatted here, as well. Click Create Quick Key when done.
  3. The Test Key view will open allowing teachers make additional edits such as:
      • Item Number
      • Correct Response or Score Range (for Constructed Response type Questions)
      • Item Weight
      • Primary Standard
      • Secondary Standard
      • Link Resources (it is important to link all questions to resources, if it applies (ex. reading passages), if you plan to utilize the new question randomization feature for online testing

Remember to change the test from Pending to Active on the General tab and click on the Administration tab to finalize options for administering the test. Click on the Online Testing tab on this tutorial website for more help on how to administer a test in Aware.
