You will see that things go slow in August, as we want to train our students to work with effort, not with speed. For the month of August, please be patient as we are going to try and individually assess all 100 kindergarteners. On pick up day, you should have received a chrome book and some workbooks/packets. This is work that will need to be done and turned in at the end of the month. The work is all explained and taught in Google Classroom.

Please go into your child's Google Classroom each Monday to see the work that will be done each week. There will be videos to help your child and other digital work that is besides the paperwork sent home. It may seem like a lot, but with time, your child will gain independence and "need" you less.

Sometimes parents ask, "What can I do right now to help my child? What will be the most beneficial thing I can do to get my child where they need to be?"

  • Our #1 answer is to work on letters and sounds everyday! (Use the Zoophonics flashcards we provided)

  • Our #2 answer is to have your child count everyday! (Try to count to 10, then 20, eventually up to 100)

  • Our #3 answer is to have your child write daily!(Practice name, letter formation, and eventually sentences)

  • Our # 4 answer is to read with your child daily! (The Reading A-Z app has tons of books to choose from)
