**Tk/K schedule is extended/full day from August 10th to the end of the year (in accordance to the CA ED laws) but parents have the option to utilize the half-day time at the beginning of the year to assist in transitioning to full day. This option helps meet the social emotional needs of the students, especially at the beginning of the year, to provide a positive relationship with school and their peers. Parents have the option of half-day dismissal without it counting against attendance. If you have any questions please contact your childs' teacher.

Reminders
Students will be eating lunch at school beginning the first day of school (Aug 10th). We would like to get them into their lunch routine, so we are starting earlier than we have in the past. With that being said, here's what you can do to help things run smoothly:
Send a snack and a lunch each day with your child.
If you would like your child to have "hot lunch" (from the cafeteria), that is an option as well. Please send a note with your child (or text/email your child's teacher) indicating that "hot lunch" for your child.
"Hot lunch" is free this year. You will not need to provide money for your child to eat.
Please label BOTH your child's "lunch" and "snack." (This helps the teacher quickly identify what should be eaten for snack and what needs to be saved for lunch).
Please avoid soda and candy in both snacks and lunches.
Please put your child's lunch and snack in two different vessels so students can identify the difference.
Please put your child's name on any reusable items. This will help any lost items returned to its owner.
Spare Clothes
The school day is packed with fun activities. Although we do a lot of reminding and provide ample amount of opportunities throughout the day to use the bathroom, sometimes accidents happen. During the first few months of school, we recommend keeping a spare change of clothes in your childs backpack. The school does provide loaners when needed, but to ensure they fit and are comfortable for your child, having a spare will help.
Thank you!
