Middle School Band

The middle school band is made up of students in grades 7-8. Some of the students have experience in their elementary bands, however many learn an instrument for the first time in class. The band meets every day. The comprehensive program introduces students to basic music theory, composers from all time periods and countries, and the responsibilities of caring for their own instrument. Students participate in two concerts annually as well as the 8th grade promotion in June. Members in the band are encouraged to join the extra curricular activities such as jazz band and choir. The band performs annually in festivals across the east coast, most recently in Boston, MA
