The Henry Hudson marching band is a prominent and well-known ensemble. Open to all grades, the marching band is one of many after school activities that provide students with opportunities for improvement outside of the classroom. The music is often easy to learn and not difficult to play. Students will learn the proper way to march and carry their instruments. In doing so students will also learn skills such as teamwork, endurance, commitment, and responsibility. The marching band performs in local parades including the Highlands St. Patrick's Day parade, and the Atlantic Highlands and Highlands Memorial Day Parades. In the past, they have also marched at the Rumson St. Patrick's Day Parade where they won “Best in Show”. Additionally, in 2017 they were seen marching down Main Street in Walt Disney World. The marching band is a great opportunity to enhance musical knowledge, play alongside upperclassmen and peers, as well as make a contribution to the community.
