The Henry Hudson choir is extracurricular for all grades. The choir is an activity that typically rehearses at night, once a week, leading up to concerts and events. Students must audition to be in the choir. The choir is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys singing or wishes to pursue a career involved with music or vocal performance. It is also a great opportunity to enrich one’s musical understanding outside of the classroom. The choir offers a chance to learn the intricacies and proper techniques of singing such as learning harmonies, developing pitch, and correcting vocal embouchure. The choir performs annually at the winter and spring concerts, and both the Highlands and Atlantic Highlands Christmas tree lightings. They can also be seen at their choir Christmas Concert at the Strauss House of Atlantic Highlands. The choir is very involved in the community and can be seen performing at parades, pep rallies, and even local nursing homes. The choir is not only a great opportunity to develop singing skills, but also a great way to get involved in the local community.
