Make an artwork based on a book or movie.

Make a map for a fantasy world. Include different kingdoms, landscapes and buildings. Try to make it accurate with a compass, scale and guide. Make sure to name your world. I used a pencil and I am going to outline it in ink.

I designed this map which links to a short story I am writing in an extension program. I made sure to include the landmarks I know in the story so far and then drew the rest of it. Now I have to make sure the story matches the map. I included elf kingdoms of shadow, earth, fire, air and water as well as a few human and mixed ones. The weather comes from the west, giving the earth kingdom its bogginess. The mountains stop the rain from going to the desert and fire kingdom. the weather then moves past the shadow kingdom and into the water kingdom. I got inspiration from other book maps like Eragon, Lord of the Rings and Wings of Fire. I really enjoyed doing this and hope you do too.
