We think the West preschool is great! We recently moved to the area in part because of its fantastic schools. Our oldest child, who started when he was a few months shy of 3 years old, had never been to school before so this was his and our first school experience. The community made us feel right at home. As a full-time working mother, I really appreciate how they make expectations, activities, and communications very clear and easy. Much of the information comes to the class parents via email (you can even add au pair or caretakers to the email list). Pictures from the classroom activities are posted online. I can text with the teachers if I have any concerns or if my child will be late or absent. There is a great preschool and preK-only outdoor space attached to the classroom, so I know my child is getting some exercise and outdoor time while playing with kids his own age. The surrounding school also has a great playground and huge grassy field.

Most importantly, though, the teachers are fantastic. Head Teacher Becca is caring, firm, and empathetic with the kids. We felt comfortable sharing with the teachers when our longtime nanny graduated school and moved away, and the teachers were able to support our child through that transition. I trust them, and I am so happy that they are teaching my child the social niceties he needs for the world. He can now recognize his own written name and he covers his mouth when he sneezes! Hooray! The teachers also take the kids (with parent support) on wonderful field trips (Pumpkin patches! Children's theater!).

We also love that when it's time, our child will be able to transition easily to kindergarten and first grade at the same school. I highly recommend the West preschool.

We have three children, and our youngest two attended both North and West for pre-k (4 yr olds) and preschool (3 yr olds). The teachers, supporting staff and director are all amazing. They really care about the children and their experience. There are lots of field trips and activities everyday. I feel like I can really trust our children are in good hands. Teacher Marcia of North and teacher Becca of West feel like part of the family now. Their classmates are so sweet too. My only regret is not knowing about the program earlier so that I could have sent my eldest there too.

Such an amazing program! My son has been going to South Hillsborough Preschool since Tiny Tots and just finished Pre kindergarten this month! He looked forward to going to school everyday, especially because of all the fun things they do! The field trips they offer are very educational and the curriculum will prepare your child for Kindergarten! He loves teacher Tammy, Teacher Denise and Teacher Adriana and will really miss them!
