Athletic Scholarships


Students who possess the talent and desire to play a sport or receive an athletic scholarship at a Division I or II college must ensure that they meet the specified academic criteria that is established by the NCAA.

Students must successfully complete a core curriculum of 16 academic courses. Included in these NCAA core courses are a number of college preparatory English, science, social studies and math courses. Prospective athletes must also achieve a minimum combined SAT or ACT score. Have your scores sent directly to the NCAA Clearinghouse each time you register with the College Board or ACT; the code is 9999.

After completion of the junior year, athletes must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse. To register: NCAA Clearinghouse Fee required.


Due to the highly specific requirements of NCAA academic eligibility, it is essential that prospective college athletes seek out the assistance of their counselor as early as possible to obtain information pertaining to NCAA requirements. At this time a game plan can be devised that will enable athletes to attain NCAA academic requirements.
