A due date is given at the start of each project. Students typically have about 10 class periods (or 4 weeks) to complete a project. This is generally have enough studio time to complete each project in class. If needed, it is expected that students will complete work at home, or during open studio time at lunch, in order to meet class deadlines. The following is our usual class routine.
START OF CLASS - Be on time. As soon as you enter the classroom, take your assigned seat. Ms. Torres will begin class with an overview of the day's activities. If there is a presentation or demonstration, be sure to pay attention!
STUDIO TIME / WORK TIME - Work time is fun time! Follow instructions for how studio time is to be used. Pick up the materials you will be using for the day. If you need clarification or have questions about the day’s activity, ask questions! Ms. Torres will be circulating around the room to help out. If she's not readily available, start by asking students at your table for assistance.
END OF CLASS - Depending on the project we are working on, the last 5-10 minutes are for clean up. Put your project away. Put all art materials away. Wipe and dry tables. Push in your chair. {Ms. Torres will review how to clean up for each project.}
