We have provided many important dates associated with the course selection and registration process for the upcoming school year. Please understand that dates are approximate and may be impacted by inclement weather days.

Teacher recommendation window open

9th-11th Course Registration reviewed during period 3
December 19th – January 17th
Parents/guardians and students can view course recommendations and access Course Placement Review Forms (CPR) in Synergy
December 19th – January 17th
Students will work with their parents to enter their course requests for the 23/24 SY, including entering alternate courses in Synergy. Parents can complete and submit CPR forms online through HCPSS Connect until 3/1/2023. Following 3/1/2023, students/parents will need to complete a fillable CPR form and submit it to students’ counselor
January 12th at 6:30 pm
GHS Scheduling & Information Night for incoming 9th graders & students new to Glenelg and their Families

January 25th– February 7th
Counselors will meet with all current 9th – 11th graders during Science classes to review individual requests and progress towards graduation requirements (as well as answer questions about Jumpstart, Apprenticeship, Intern/Mentor and Ind. Research GT, Career Academies, work release, etc.)
February 1st - 15th
Summer school registration opens for limited classes
February 7th
ARL request must be included in student core course requests in order to receive equal opportunity to participate. Scheduling for ARL is a lottery system and academies generally have long waiting lists once filled.
March 1st -15th
Summer school registration window: All classes
April 1st - 15th
Summer school registration window: All classes
May 1st - 15th
Summer school registration window: All classes

Students interested in Jumpstart can begin the process for registration
Late May/early June
GHS master course schedule will be finalized and student schedules run
June 8th
Students scheduled courses will be viewable for students/families in HCPSS Connect. Class periods and teachers are not viewable until late August and changes will not be made to accommodate preferences in teachers or class periods
