STEM III evaluation areas are based on the process skill areas of Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Innovation. All teams are evaluated each quarter using the collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation using a project-specific rubric.
The primary information to evaluate these areas will be STEM III work products and team performance.
ALL grades are improvable. If a student earns a grade of Below Basic on a particular learning target, that student can improve that grade if they are able to demonstrate a higher level of mastery on a future project. Due to the nature of STEM III projects with external partners, it is typically not possible to remediate a project-specific rubric. However, it may be possible to remediate a learning target (e.g., innovation) with a future project. For example, if your group earns BB for Collaboration in the 1st Quarter, but then earns PR for Collaboration in the 2nd Quarter, your grade for Collaboration in the 1st Quarter will be remediated to PR. This remediation policy is ONLY possible for 1st & 2nd Quarter projects and 3rd & 4th Quarter projects.
