Public Health Committee

Status: Active

Established: Fall 2022

Mission

Our mission is to take action to increase the physical and mental health of the student body by increasing education and awareness, planning events, securing resources and support, combating stigma, and fighting for institutional change. We partner with local organizations to offer events and training opportunities to students, faculty and staff with the primary goal of ensuring the health and safety of HCC’s students. We’ve identified main areas of public health that we believe have a great impact on the wellbeing of students including, but not limited to, disability awareness and accessibility, substance use and Narcan training, blood drive, CPR training, mental health, and sexual health. The committee is open to student senators, non senator students, and those employed at HCC.
