These committees are based around a special topic or goal.

Debt Free Future Committee

[Spring 2022]

Focus and Goals: The Committee is open to all students who attend HCC. The goal is to pass the bill to ensure free public higher education at the state level. The committee will work with all 15 community colleges on this bill. This bill, formally titled “An Act to Guarantee Debt-Free Public Higher Education,” would guarantee every Massachusetts resident the right to a public higher education free of tuition, fees, and student debt. With this bill, we’re taking the next step in our Debt-Free Future campaign, to demand justice for students and to take bold action to address the student debt crisis.

Dining Services Improvement Committee 

[ Spring 2021] – [Fall 2021]

Focus and Goals: Sent Proposal to Dr. Royal. Future goals include; increased sustainability, seed to plate dining, dining services collaboration with Culinary students.

 Campus Safety Task Force 

[ Summer 2020 – March 2021]

Focus and Goals: Committee sent final proposal to Dr. Royal about police on campus including a regular survey gauging how students feel about safety.

Foil the Patriarchy Sub-Committee 

[Spring 2021] – [Fall 2021]

Focus and Goals: The Student Senate Subcommittee, Foil the Patriarchy, is a collective fighting for the progression of equity in a direct opposition to the White supremacist capitalist patriarchy. In Fall 2021, we aim to establish a student survey every semester to evaluate the equitability of representation in their course curriculum.
