"Dr. Martinez is excellent ... She puts so much time and effort into her students, trying to get to know each and every one of us. She always puts her students first, and puts her heart and soul into the classes she teaches."

"My Psychology, Communications, and Criminology classes all influenced me to not give up my studies, especially my Criminology professor, as he made me more interested in the class material."

"Two Professors stand out and they inspired me and taught me so much: One of the best English teachers I’ve ever had was Lisa Mahon. She’s so great at teaching about how to write, and to critically analyze what you were reading for her class. Her enthusiasm and passion for teaching is unparalleled. My math professor Rebecca Targove was the main reason I did so well in math and really learned to love it. She’s incredibly gifted at teaching complicated math in a way that anyone can understand."

"Prof. Laurel Carpenter is resurrecting the ENV program and I am thankful for her dedication, compassion and guidance. I am proud of my experiences in that program and will speak highly of it."

"Prof Diane Stengle was a wonderful mentor throughout my two years at HCC, including writing recommendation letters, answering questions about career paths, helping me get two summer internships, and supervising an independent research project."

"All I have to say is that I'm really grateful for HCC's staff and teachers that have been there for me. Thank you so much for helping me further my education."

"I enjoyed my entire time at HCC. All faculty and staff were so supportive. I will miss the culture of HCC."

"Professor Lesley of the English Department helped me in a way that I have never had a professor do for me before. She is so kind and will help you in any way she can."

"[Environmental Science Professor] Kathleen Maiolatesi and her sustainability courses were a great joy to me. She also helped me outside of class to consider what I'd want to pursue as a career. Richard Powers' class was also really enjoyable."

"Prof Sheila Gould helped me become who I am today and without her support and dedication it would have been tough for me to get to this point . I thank her a lot."

Thank you to our advisors who guided us!!

"I don't think I would have made it through without the help and support of Shannon Sarkisian. She is an awesome person and I'm so grateful for all she has done for me!"

"My advisors and coaches had an influence on me to guide me on a pathway to continue my education and succeed in the classroom and on the field."

"Nancy Nelkin and Saul Caban of TRIO were especially critical support partners and mentors for me. Without their support, I could not have persevered."

"One of the many reasons why I’m so grateful for HCC is because it helped me realize what “type” of student I am. Through the Pathways program, my abilities were recognized and amplified, and I was connected with the right people to continue refining my skill. Through Clubs and the Student Senate, I met like-minded individuals and became a more effective leader. Through my Honors courses and projects, I found my career path and what I want to dedicate my life's work to."

Thank you for all the support!!

"I’m very appreciative of the academic recognition both Phi Theta Kappa and NSLS offered me. Both were opportunities to enhance my success and leadership skills that I will carry with me forever."

"Gotta say, the tutors at the Writing Center taught me how to properly write a scholarship essay."

"HCC was such a wonderful experience for me. I truly believe I was equipped with all necessary resources from HCC in order to have a successful academic experience. My experience at HCC, combined with the people and professors I have met and the curriculum learned, exceeded my expectations, and leaves me with immense gratitude for the school and my time here. I feel I have become stronger academically through my time at HCC."

"The resources that were provided in addition to the scholarships is the only reason I was able to complete my degree. It’s also the reason I am continuing my education. I cannot recommend HCC enough."

"Kerry Driscoll is a superhero tutor! Without you I probably wouldn't have passed Econ, much less gotten an A!"

"I had an excellent overall experience at HCC. Everyone I dealt with over the two years, faculty and staff included have been professional, kind and helpful."

"The Creative Writing Club at HCC was a fantastic connection for me. I had a lot of fun and met many other students."

"TRIO, OSDDS, and the Bunker were critical support during my time @ HCC."

"The HCC Board of Trustees is a phenomenal team of inspiring people who I admire for their professionalism and dedication to both the community and our campus. I gained a new sense of self respect from your guidance and example. Thank you for everything!"

"Student Engagement is what got me out of my shell and changed the way I thought about myself as a member of the campus community. Thanks for everything you gave and gave and gave."

"The remote learning environment allowed me to enroll."

"The faculty is the most important piece, without them HCC wouldn't be what it is and as a first time college student it made my journey easier. Knowing that ppl care about my education instead of treating me like another statistic. I thank you HCC for my education. This year I will be 50 years old and I will be holding my degree on my hands thanks to everyone in this campus from the maintenance people, to the office people thank you all. You are all what this world needs caring individuals."

Thanks for the friendship!!

"STEM Club was so much more than just a 'special interest' group for me. It was a place to meet new friends, gain support, and generate ideas. I had been trying to join STEM Club since early 2020, but due to the pandemic, it wasn't active until the Fall 2021 semester. I'm so grateful I was able to join in my last year at HCC. In a way, that made it even more special. It was worth the wait."

"Starting the only political club on campus gave me opportunities to get involved with activism, campaigns & government, helped me find my path, and form a group of classmates & graduates who wish to make a difference in our community."

"Clubs are amazing a way to meet others and stay social on campus."

"Wish I'd gotten involved sooner!"

"As a nontraditional student, my past experiences with higher education were short-lived, unsuccessful, and directionless. The connections that I've fostered with my professors and advisors have ultimately led to my path at HCC becoming larger than life. I owe all of my successes to them, because they helped me recognize and honor the potential I always knew I had."

"The Pathways Program and Honors classes prepared me for transfer beyond my expectations."

We love you, HCC!
