Hello! My name is Alicia Beaton and I am a secondary education English major. I love making a difference and being part of leadership opportunities. My love for leadership started back in high school when I became the Corps Commander of the AFJROTC program. I love being involved with college activities and extracurriculars. When I am not at the college you can find me spending time outdoors or with my friends and family. I love drawing and all things art related. I plan on getting an associate's degree in graphic design down the road. I have faced many hardships in my life, but I have never let them get in my way or put me down. Talk to me about leadership, life experiences, or anything in general. I am always happy to listen and help out if I can. 

My name is Carissa Batura and my major is Early Childhood Education. After I graduate HCC, I want to transfer to a 4 year university and after that, I want to get a job as a special Ed teacher.  I served as the secretary of the SAS club for 3 semesters. I am on the Childcare Subcommittee and OSDDS Committee. Talk to me about the SAS club if you have any questions about it and want to join it. You can also talk to me about childcare at HCC. Lastly, you can talk to me about disabilities - if you have one or even if you don’t have one and want to learn more about disabilities and how to get the help you need and how to advocate for yourself. I strongly believe that all students at HCC should have equal rights.

Barney is an active member of the Student Senate as the Student Trustee. As Trustee, he sits on the College's Board of Trustees, an important decision-making body that oversees the entire college. There is nothing more important to Barney than ensuring his fellow students' needs are met, he is always up to chat. There is never a day where he isn't running around trying to lend a helping hand. Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking, and likes video games and late-night drives. Barney is the happy father of four chubby cats.  

Jesenia is a new member of the Student Senate. She is always willing to lend a helping hand around the office. She wants to make sure the student’s voices are being heard. Besides Senate she is involved with a numerous of other clubs. She wants to help out the college in any way she can.

Hello! My name is Alex (she/they/he). I am a dedicated leader that joined the Student Senate to advocate for the school and support the community at HCC. It is important to me that I ensure all student voices are heard and that I am continuing to help bring positive changes to HCC. I consider myself a fun, empathetic, and kind individual that likes to do artsy things, vibe, and get to know people. I am most recognizable for my Sanrio obsession and my very puffy hair.

My name is Alexis Roach (she/her), and I am the Student Engagement Coordinator here at HCC. I'm passionate about supporting students and helping them get connected to meaningful involvement and leadership opportunities. It's also my priority to support our Student Senators in their work to represent and enhance the student experience. In my free time I love running, hanging out with my pets, spending time outdoors, and travelling. Talk to me about any ideas and feedback you have about student engagement at HCC!

Tommy Stewart is entering his 35th year in Higher Education.  He is currently the Director of Athletics and Student Development at HCC.  He was the Student Activities Coordinator at Westfield State University from 1989-1996. He was the Activities Coordinator at HCC from 1996 - 2000.  Since 2000 he has been the Director of Athletics at HCC.  Recently, he was also named Director of Student Engagement.  Stewart oversees Athletics, Thrive and Student Activities.  He is an advisor to the HCC Student Senate.
