We are the Holyoke Community College Student Senate. We are elected representatives and serve as the voice of the student body. We strive to ensure that HCC is meeting the needs of all students and we commit ourselves to this promise every day. On this site, you can learn more about our Senate, and how you can get involved!
What does the Student Senate do?
The HCC Student Senate is primarily charged with the representation of fellow students at the administrative level of the college. It is fundamentally important that our perspective is heard when big decisions are made that can impact our education and experience at the college.
Through our involvement, which can be in many shapes and forms, we strive to make the college a better and welcoming place for everyone.
Why join the Student Senate?
Being in Student Senate allows you to make a difference by being the voice for your fellow students. Not only do you engage in public service, volunteering, and events, but you get to learn what it fundamentally means to be a representative.
Student Senate seeks to harness the leader in everyone, and help them be an impactful advocate. We believe in nothing more than personal growth, and having fun along the way!
What our involvement looks like
Volunteering
We try to collaborate with clubs and other offices to support events, as well as throw our own! We regularly try to be a helping hand around campus whenever can be.
Advocacy
Through talking to administrators, meeting with committees, and in general using our voice, we ensure that all voices are heard and reflected in key college decisions that impact us.
Fun!
But not all life is business! Whether it's having fun in the office, going on our yearly trip, or just having lunch together, the Student Senate seeks to be a support network for all of its members.
