Meet The Fall Coaches

Hi, my name is Tim Gibson. This is my 3rd season coaching the Hermosa Valley Flag Football team. I have been coaching flag football for 8 seasons, across several age divisions, and have been part of 4 Super Bowl championship teams. I am also an active Hermosa Baseball coach and part of the Hermosa Baseball Executive Board. I played high school football and rugby in college. In my spare time, I enjoy carpooling, doing squats, and spending time with my three Hermosa sons and wife, Lisa. Our coaching philosophy is team first, focus second, with winning being a byproduct of both. We are excited for this years' team of athletes and look forward to making the Hermosa community proud with our efforts on the field. Go Valley!

My name is Chris Snyder. This is my 2nd season coaching Hermosa Valley Flag Football. I am part of BCS Flag Football, the premier flag football league in the Southbay. Over 6 years and 12 seasons (both spring and fall). My teams have celebrated 5 Super Bowl victories, with two of them being at SoFi Stadium. Through my effective coaching & mentoring, I’ve earned the 'Coach of the Year' award.

Over the last 12 seasons, I have mentored and coached more than 150 kids, ensuring each one of them gets the best training, both mentally and physically. Apart from football, I also coach and support Hermosa Beach Little League. 

As a member of the Junior High Football coaching staff, I bring years of experience, expertise, and most importantly, a passion for the game. I am dedicated to building not just great players, but great individuals, ready to tackle challenges on and off the field.

Hi, my name is Ray Jackson. I am the father of Vann (8th grade) and Jax (6th grade), I am back working with Tim and Chris for a second year coaching HVS flag football. I love Florida Gators football and bring along 7 years of coaching experience to our middle school team. Sports are truly the best metaphor for life. I am super excited to work with our young men and build upon last season’s success.

I was born in the South Bay a long, long time ago and currently reside in HB with my wonderful wife, Anna, and (mostly) wonderful daughter, Tristan.

To Tristan's dismay, I really enjoy being around her and her friends. A love of sports, particularly volleyball, is something we share, so I'm thrilled to get to coach this talented group of young women.

I have played indoor and beach VB for more than 50 years, so I am well experienced with the game, but have never coached volleyball before. I'm learning a lot watching Kashi and Tristan's club coaches. Truly amazing how the professionals work to bring out the best in individuals and teams. 

I'm a Capricorn and I have no idea what that means. Fun fact: Tristan and I both took 3rd at the Junior Olympics in indoor volleyball at age 12 - 45 years apart! 

Hi, my name is Nat Hazard. This is my 2nd year coaching cross country and track for HVS. I am an outdoor enthusiast, and running is a huge passion of mine. I have run several half marathons, 10k and 5k races, but my latest endeavor is the ultramarathon. I love to race long distances, on the trail, all over California. I also cycle, play the drums, and play the guitar. I love to paddleboard, play pickleball, and backpack in the mountains. I am excited to take HVS cross country and track to the next level!

Hi, my name is Danika Brown. I was a multi-sport athlete in HS. I ran cross country, track, and played soccer. I was named to the UT-San Diego All-Academic Team. I went on to play soccer at PLNU for 2 seasons and then transferred to SDSU where I played club for 2 seasons. Since graduating, I have ran 4 marathons including the LA marathon and 8 half marathons. Also, I just got a new dog. Her name is Bailey, a German shepherd mix puppy rescue! I am excited to partner with HVS cross country.
