SPRING SPORTS

The Boys Volleyball Tryouts (Grades 6-8) are happening during the week of March 16th at Hermosa Valley. Once on the team, parents/guardians must complete the HVS Athletics Forms. Additionally, it is recommended that students and parents/guardians review the HVS Athletics Handbook. Please note: Students trying out for Boys Volleyball must attend both tryout dates. Tryouts are closed to spectators.

Boys & Girls Track & Field Tryouts (Grades 6-8) are happening the week of March 16th at Hermosa Valley. Once on the team, parents/guardians must complete the HVS Athletics Forms. The Girls Flag Football Tryouts (Grades 6-8) are happening during the week of March 23rd at Hermosa Valley. Once on the team, parents/guardians must complete the HVS Athletics Forms. Additionally, it is recommended that students and parents/guardians review the HVS Athletics Handbook. Please note: Students trying out for Girls Flag Football must attend both tryout dates. Tryouts are closed to spectators.

Boys & Girls Surf (In-Water) Tryouts (Grades 6-8) for New Surfers Only are happening the week of March 30th (time to be announced) at the beach off 16th Street in Hermosa Beach. No make-up tryouts will be available. Returning surfers do not need to reapply. Only new surfers trying out for the team must complete a Spring Surf Team Application and email it to Coach Vasquez at nvasquez@hbcsd.org or dropped off in the Valley Front Office by Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Once on the Surf Team, parents/guardians must complete the HVS Athletics Forms. Additionally, it is recommended that students and parents/guardians review the HVS Athletics Handbook. Please note: No Zero Period Surf will be offered at this time.
