Coming Soon
Hi everyone! I'm Kristen Prosser, mom of Nolan (6th grade at Hermosa Valley) and Welles (4th grade at Hermosa Vista). Our family is thrilled to be a part of the Boys Volleyball Program at HVS!
I grew up in San Diego with a volleyball in my hand, playing both sand and indoor. In high school, I was named CIF Player of the Year, gained All-American honors, and Club Junior Olympic Gold Medal while at Coast VBC. I was fortunate to earn a Division l scholarship to Northeastern University, where I was a three-year captain, setter of the year, and conference player of the year. I was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014 and am an active member of their alumni! After college, I played professional beach volleyball on the AVP tour while in law school, and I represented Team USA across the world in places like Australia, China, and France before becoming a sports attorney.
My goal for these athletes is to develop their volleyball skills, build confidence, compete with purpose and most importantly have fun!
My name is Rocky Jones. I'm excited to be a coach again of the Girls Flag Football at Hermosa Valley. I hope to continue to build the program for several years to come. I have led youth sports teams in the community for over a decade for my son Dash (junior at Mira Costa) and daughter Zoe (8th grader at HVS) across multiple sports and leagues. Along the way, I've coached baseball, soccer, basketball, and football. While there have been successful seasons, I’ve found the greatest compliment is when the majority of kids on the team return to play again the following year.
Hi, I’m Ray Jackson, proud father of Vann (sophomore at Mira Costa) and Jax (8th grade). I’m a passionate Florida Gators football fan and bring eight years of coaching experience to our middle school teams. I believe sports are one of the best metaphors for life that teach teamwork, perseverance, and resilience. I’m thrilled to help again with the Girls Flag Football team and look forward to building a strong, dynamic program together.
Hi, my name is Danika Brown. I was a multi-sport athlete in HS. I ran cross country, track, and played soccer. I was named to the UT-San Diego All-Academic Team. I went on to play soccer at PLNU for 2 seasons and then transferred to SDSU where I played club for 2 seasons. Since graduating, I have ran 4 marathons including the LA marathon and 8 half marathons. Also, I just got a new dog. Her name is Bailey, a German shepherd mix puppy rescue! I am excited to partner with HVS cross country.
Growing up outside of Eugene, OR — also known as TrackTown USA — meant that track and field became part of my DNA! In high school, I competed at the state level all four years in mid-distance sprints, and after graduation, I walked on at Boise State University. Following an injury, I transferred to San Diego State and joined the women’s crew team (the mid-distance endurance of water sports!). Still holding a deep love for the sport, I have worked at the 2016, 2020(1), and 2024 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials and continue to follow the sport’s exciting growth. I’m thrilled to join Coach Brown in coaching this group of enthusiastic and talented students at HVS!
What Up, Everyone! My name is Jani (Yawn-ee) Lange. I have dedicated over 35 years of my life to the sport and lifestyle of surfing. As a Hermosa Beach native and an HVS Alumni, I am excited to prepare middle school athletes for competitive high school surfing. While attending Redondo Union High School, my Surf Team went UNDEFEATED for two consecutive years. GO SEA HAWKS!
In 2024, I clinched the Masters Division Championship in the South Bay Boardriders Club Surf Series, adding another highlight to my surfing journey.
Beyond the waves, I'm involved in our South Bay community. I serve on the Boards of Directors for the South Bay Boardriders Club and the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, I'm in my 11th year as a Commissioner for the Hermosa Beach Parks and Recreation Department, and I coach local soccer, baseball, basketball, and flag football teams.
Aside from surfing, I'm committed to educating our young athletes about the importance of ocean etiquette and preserving our historic beach culture. Thank you for your trust and support!
Hi, my name is Alyssa Crenshaw! This is my second year coaching the Hermosa Valley Cheer Team, and I'm thrilled about this opportunity. Before joining HVS, I coached the Redondo Union High School Cheer Team for six years and was a cheerleader there throughout my four years of high school. Go Sea Hawks!
In addition to coaching, I'm proud to be a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teacher at Hermosa View School. My goal as a coach is to inspire our team to become true spirit ambassadors. While cheerleading is our main focus, we'll also prioritize academics, kindness, fostering a positive school culture, and supporting our school community.
I’m so excited for the year ahead and can't wait to cheer on our incredible student-athletes. Go Dolphins!
