Mounting Tip

Rovings Owls
Hathaway Brown School has "built" a few roving Owls. These are self-contained and can be used indoors or outdoors without requiring an electrical outlet. In addition to the Owl, a small piece of plywood, and a bunch of cable ties, here is our shopping list...
Sound Enhancements
Hathaway Brown School has implemented two options to enhance sound when using the Owl. Although the Owl can be used without any additional equipment and still capture high-quality sound, there are times when additional hardware is necessary. NuForce BE Sport3 Wireless In-Ear Headphones, $19.95 - This headphone / microphone combination (or similar hardware such as AirPods) allows a teacher to speak into a microphone more directly versus having to have some proximity to the Owl. Zoom or Meet can be set so the microphone is not the Owl but is the headphones/microphones.
Zoweetek Portable Rechargeable Mini Voice Amplifier with Wired Microphone Headset and Waistband, $35.99 - This device amplifies the sound for all students whether they are in the room or at home. Amplifiers like this are compatible with the Owl as they are worn by the teacher. Wall or ceiling mounted amplifiers are not compatible with the Owl.
