Registration Period for NSE students:
NSE students register after the continuing UH Mānoa students. This means that seats may not be available in your preferred courses when you register. For this reason, we recommend you select more courses that you actually plan on taking as back-up options in case your first choices are not available. Your exact registration day and time is assigned according to your class standing at your home campus that was listed on your NSE application. If your class standing has since changed, you may email your unofficial transcript to exchange@hawaii.edu so that we can verify your standing: Freshman (0-24 credits), Sophomore (25-54 credits), Junior (55-88 credits), Senior (89+ credits).
Full Time Enrollment Required:
You must be enrolled be registered full-time at UH Mānoa, which is a minimum of 12 credits of in-person courses (most courses are 3 credits, so students typically enroll in 4 courses to be full-time).
Extension Courses Not Allowed:
There are two terms listed in the Class Availability for the Fall and Spring semesters, the regular term and the extension term. NSE students should choose courses exclusively from the regular semester term and not select extension courses.
Unique Course Recommendations:
UH Mānoa offers a number of unique courses that provide opportunities to learn about Hawaiʻi and the Pacific while you are on exchange! We will send out a list of these courses offered during your exchange semester, which are highly recommended. The most popular courses among NSE students are HAW 100 and HWST 107.
