Determining where you would like to live during your exchange to UHM is an important consideration. Most NSE students apply to live on-campus, but please note that on-campus housing is not guaranteed, particularly for the Spring semester. Here is more information on University-managed housing, privately owned/operated housing for UH students, and off campus housing options. NSE students may apply for on-campus housing after completing the UH application for admission and being assigned a UH ID number. On-campus housing rates vary depending on the option. Roommate requests can be made but are not guaranteed.
Most neighborhoods in Honolulu are well connected by the city bus system, TheBus, which students can ride for free after obtaining their student ID card. Popular off-campus housing options for NSE students have included Hale Mahana and RISE.
