Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself
What materials will you need for your project?
CoSpace, VR head set, Pc
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to make a game where you make decisions to get to the end.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will have challenges designed by me and will have different paths that you can go in.
Day one
Today I played with the world a little and filled out my questions. I then created part of the first scene with two towers that will lead to different paths.
Day two
Today I created the rest of the first scene and coded a knight and the cat to speak and move. Then I programed the towers to ask questions.
Day three
Today I created the second scene and coded the Dimond, the pirate and the closet.
Day four
I created the third scene today and coded it. I had a little trouble though and had to go in to fix it a little.
Day five
Today I did a test run of the game and we had to try the VR in some goggles. Then I had a friend try it too. I added the finishing touches on the third scene.
Day six
Today I began coding the fourth scene and coded the buttons to do things. After that I began creating the last scene.
Day seven
I finished the last scene and connected the last and fourth scene to the right tower. I double checked everything and made sure that the teleporting was working.
Day eight
I did the the video and the writing today.
Using CoSpaces, I created A VR world. The VR world is a chose your path game that has a few different paths with parkour, guessing, and just plain following instructions. It has four or five codded characters and a few background animals. I wanted to make a chose your path game because I have never played one before and thought that it would be a fun idea to make one.
During this process, I learned how to code people in CoSpace. I did not understand how to use the codes in the Codeblocks or how to add the characters to Codeblocks. I played around with it a little bit and eventually figured it out. Another thing I learned was how to walk in the VR world with the arrow keys on the keyboard. I asked a class mate and they showed me how to do it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovator designer because I created m own VR world that was unique to me in everyway I could think of.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the deadlines. I was having trouble building and coding the pants, animals, characters, and rooms fast enough and I thought I would run out of time. I was able to overcome this by simplifying certain rooms and adding less detail.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the third and second scenes. The reason why I would change it is because the third scene has very little detail and I would have liked to add some more and probably a second path in the scene. For the fourth scene I would have liked to add more buttons and possibly make some more of them do things. I would also add one more scene probably so it was a little less repetitive.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in VR simulation engineer because I created a VR world were you were moving around and trying to reach the end goal.
