Using the makey makey, aluminum foil, games iPad, and computer,  I created a aluminum controller that we can use to play games because we did not want to use the keyboard and mouse to play games, so we made a controller to play the game we wanted.

During this process, I learned  how to use the makey makey because I did not know how to make the makey makey work, and it took a while for us to learn how to connect the alligator clips because there was a certain way on how we have to connect them to make it work.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to knowledge constructor because we  watched videos on how to work the makey makey and we asked our peers to help us on how to make it work.

A challenge I overcame on this project was learning how to make the makey makey work because we weren't able to make it work the first couple days. I was able to do it by watching videos and asking people to help us.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the time it took to make it work. The reason why I would change it is because it took a while to learn how to work it.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the engineering design  CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in engineering design  because we created the controller used to play the games out of aluminum foil.
