7P8 - Makey Makey

Using makeymakey.com and play dough, I created a piano because me and my partner love music. We also made a button clicker, you touched the play dough and you could click on anything. In addition we tried to make something of our own but we didn't have enough time.

During this process, I learned how to use the website makeymakey.com. I also learned how to use the makey makey controller plus how to make it do things. Finally I learned to use the resources on makey makey to help me figure out the project.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner because i choose what project i was gonna do. My project also ties to global collaborator because i uploaded all my steps and progress everyday to my website.

A challenge I overcame on this project was how to get the makey makey to work. I was able to do it by using the videos on makeymakey.com to understand step by step. I also asked a few classmates for some guidance on the project.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change how many projects i did. The reason why I would change it is because me and my partner only did two because we ran out of time. Next time definitely i would do at least two more to have four projects.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to that CTE program because me and my partner tested, used resources and made a piano. Personally i wouldn't take this CTE program at Hasting High School. 

My project connects to careers in engineering Design because we made a piano and hooked up the makey makey to the computer to be able to play it. On average per year they make about 84,000 dollars. I personally wouldn't take a job like this because it doesn't peak my interest.
