Using the Tinkercad site, I created a 3d printed pencil holder with my first initial on it because I wanted a way to keep my pencils organized on my desk. I will also use my project to hold pencil erasers, which I seem to have a lot of lately. 

During this process, I learned how small my measurements were. The measurements I chose for my pencils holder made it much smaller than I had hoped. Even though my project is smaller than I imagined it still functions and can hold my pencils just fine.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because I designed my own  project through the Tinkercad website.

A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to check the dimensions of my project. I needed to have the dimensions so the 3D printer would know the size of my project. I was able to do it by searching for a tutorial on YouTube.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the dimensions of my project. The reason why I would change it is because I think that my project is way too small. If I had a chance to make my project again I would make it the maximum 3in by 3in by 3in. That way my project would be bigger.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  This is because I digitally created my project using only the materials I had, while staying within the project guidelines.

My project connects to careers in design engineering  because I will have to develop innovative design solutions.
