This is a video of our day 1 project we practiced driving the sphero. We did up and down the hallways. We also did bowling but thats on Maddie Peaks I pad and she isnt here.
This is day 2 and I did the 2 by 3 rectangle. For this once I finished I did alot of colors that were shown off camera. In the video you can see the code I used in the beggining.
This is day 3 and although i didnt label out the blocks with tape in a 8 figure. I still made a figure 8. In my video I showed you my code for it and at the end my sphero does green ,red ,green, red ,black.
This is day 4 it was pretty much a bonus day. In this video I drove my mini sphero thru a maze in the hallway. In the video it might be a little blurry but the color of my mini is teal also my speed is low.
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team with maddie peak. Maddie has been absent since tuesday so everything from day 2 and dow I have done myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Some materials I might need is one of the sparks. Ill need a Ipad as well to control it. I might need one more ipad just to take a video.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a figure 8 for my final project, I made a 2 by 3 rectangle, and i think I am going to try a maze.
What unique qualities will your project have to separate it from other peoples’ projects?
My project will be different to others because we did a figure 8 and not much people did a figure 8 most of them did mazes.
Using mini spheros I created many different things including a 2 by 3 rectangle, a figure 8, and just random driving. I did this because I didnt see much of any groups doing a figure 8 I just saw alot of spheros doing mazes. I also did it becasue I think it would be fun to do a figure 8.
During this process, I learned how to drive a mini sphero and learn how to center it. I also learned how to change the color of the sphero, and change the speed. Another thing I learned was how to code it to drive around a rectangle and other stuff.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to creative communicator. I think this because I used other peoples models and help to do the rectangle. I also created my own code for the figure 8 drive to.
A challenge I overcame on this project was learining how to code it. I was able to do it by getting help from a friend. I also learned how to do it by practicing how to do it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I did for this project. The reason why I would change it is because I would like to explore more activitys with it. I also wanna do this again because I saw one driving a card board car on a youtube video and think that would be cool.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in programming things like vending machines. Also maybe testing remote cars.
