• Using Adafruit, a computer board, and iMovie, I created a music box that featured different sounds and lights. I chose this project because it was one of my 10 great ideas, and it seemed like an easy and fun way to experiment with technology and creativity. 

• During this process, I learned how to code and locate downloaded files to program the computer board. This was essential because without it, my codes wouldn’t have worked properly. I also learned how to integrate music and lights onto a circuit board, adding an interactive element to the music box. 

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator because my process will be shared with people around the world.

• A challenge I overcame during this project was finding the correct way to download a file. I was able to solve this by watching my classmates and practicing the process repeatedly until I was able to do it correctly. 

• If I had the chance to do this project again, I would change the different tones in my music box. Since this was my first time working with sound coding, I feel that with more experience, I could create better and more refined music. 

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in web development because web developers work with computers and programming to design and build websites for companies. The entire role of a web developer revolves around creating functional and visually appealing websites, similar to how I used programming and design skills in my project.
