Day 1

We started to switch the Y-axis from old to new

We switched out the LCDx (the screen) and put the new cover on it

We put new parts in the extruder and on the extruder

We put the rest of the parts back together and did a preflight-test

Using tools, upgrading parts, and an iPad, I created a MK4S 3D printer because we built one before and Mr Renner needed people to upgrade one from a MK4 to a MK4S.
During this process, I learned it was much faster upgrading one than building one from pieces.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because we upgraded a 3D printer.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to get the screws seated for the Y-Belt holder and Y-belt tensioner. I was able to do it by doing it the next day and doing it the right way.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the time. The reason why I would change it is because we could've worked more efficiently.

My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in mechanical engineer because they fix things, upgrade, test things out.
