Reflection

• Using a 3d printer, I created a fidget toy because my brother has a hard time keeping still. A fidget toy would help him sit still. I also saw a fidget cube online and wanted to make my own. I wanted to make something that had high quality.

• During this process, I learned it takes a lot of work to design something to 3d print. I learned all about Tinker Cad and I had never used that before. I have a Toybox 3D printer and I learned that I liked Tinkercad way better because it is easier to design my own products. 

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I made a 3d printed design to share on my web site so others can see it. My project also ties to empowered learner because I had to learn how to use tinkercad. Also it ties to Innovative Designer because I had to design my own product.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was learning how to use tinkercad. I was able to do it by watching videos on YouTube like ModTech about it. I also experimented and tried new things until I was able to get it right. 

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the thing that I built. The reason why I would change it is because l want to build something that more people can use. It is important to me to build something useful. 

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Drafting technician CAD drafter CAD designer Mechanical designer Project engineer just to name a few.
