Using Dash Bot, Sphero Mini, Sphero Bolt, and iRobot, I created codes that made the robots throw a tire(Dash), make a triangle, square, and rectangle on the floor(Sphero Mini), made the Sphero Bolt jump, and spelled out HMS on a whiteboard using the iRobot, and made two Sphero Minis race. I created these projects because I wanted to learn how to code robots. Another reason I did this is because
During this process, I learned how to code robots and use the different apps to make these codes. I also learned that robots can be coded to sense things if they bump into them. Another thing I learned is that coding robots is similar to many other kinds of coding.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I created this from scratch and I stayed with it until it was finished.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the iRobot spell the letters right and making the Sphero Mini go the right way in the race. I was able to do it by readjusting the code for the iRobot and aiming the Sphero Mini the right way.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the number of robots we raced. The reason why I would change it is because it would be much more fun if we had more people racing.
