Reflections:

• Using a micro bit and micro bit programming website , I created multiple codes and performed multiple functions on the micro bit because I let me use my creativity and explore something new that I had never used before.I learned how to connect a speaker to the icon bit and get it to play music/sounds. I also learned how to get the micro bit to be able to send messages to vote micro bits.

• During this process, I learned how to code on a micro bit and problem solve. I also learned how to code using coding blocks and tried to use python but failed miserably. Another thing I learned was perseverance as I am new to coding and don't have much experience.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I solved problems that exposed themselves during the coding process. One of the problems was having to figure out how to connect speakers and use the advanced coding tools.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to code and getting the code so it would work on the micro bit. I was able to do it by trial and error and asking other people how. Another way I overcame this was looking up how to solve the problems on the website.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the duration of the project. The reason why I would change it is because after awhile everything got boring. How ever one thing that was good about the project was that it offered a lot of things to do in the beginning.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.  One reason why it connects is because I programmed the micro bit on the computer and then had that code run on the micro bit.

• My project connects to careers in software engineering because I programmed in one of many coding languages. It also connects to jobs in software engineering because I problem solved to get the projects done. Another reason is because I paid very close attention to get the code right.
