Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team.
What materials will you need for your project?
Cardboard, tape, string, toothpicks, scissors, hot glue.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Make a stadium and the little kicky things out of cardboard then make a ball whether its made of tape of string.
What unique qualities will your project have?
You'll be able to play it.
Made a diagram of our project.
Started making the table by poking the holes tjhrough the box and stuck cardboard strips to get an I dea abpout what we would need
Added finishing touches to the rods by adding pencils to make it more round and added ramps for the tape ball
Started making the kickers and made the ball return boxes
Made more people/kicker things and making sure most things are functional
Put in details and only have 2 heads and bodies to make.
Finished the project and only have the video and website stuff to finish before turning it in.
Using Cardboard Duck tape, hot glue ,pencils and markers , I created a semi usable foosball table because I wanted to make a game that could actually work and I could maybe play. Though this project didn't turn out how I would have liked I'm still proud that we got it done and still kind of work. Me and my partner worked really hard o the project and overcame many setbacks that presented themselves late in the process.
During this process, I learned how to engineer a project using limited tools and collaborating with another person to make such project. I also learned how to not stop when a challenge came up. One of those challenges was the rods, the rods at first were cardboard but we soon realized that they needed to be reinforced and so we added pencils to make it stronger.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because me and my partner solved problems and made a design/model to give us an idea on how we were gonna make the table. Another standard it could be tied to is Global Collaborator because I took what me and my partner did in class and am putting it online so anyone can see.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the game actually work. I was able to overcome it by making more precise measurements to make the bodies. Another thing we had to do was make sure that bodies and head would stick to the rods.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the at we designed the players. The reason why I would change this is because the way we designed it made it so we couldn't really play the game . Another thing I would change would be the spacing between rods because that also made it really hard to play.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to this CTE program because we made a diagram, interpreted it and used to make the final project/model.
My project connects to careers in mechanical engineering because we manufactured all of the prices of the project except for the pencils. It also connects to this career because we analyzed our diagram to make sure that the project was executed the way we wanted. Another way this career connects to our project is the fact that I worked with a partner and accomplished our task in a set amount of time.
