8p6 sphero

Using a iPad and a Sphero ball, I created a free run Spero ball with my partner because we wanted to do something together that would be fun and entertaining. We also did this because it would have challenges that we would be able to solve.

During this process, I learned how to use a sphero to do cool things. I also learned how to use the Sphero ball with different options to control it. Another thing is we randomly lost control and then it would come back so we found out that the control on the Ipad was sensitive.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator because we successfully used a Sphero ball and we used different techniques to control the ball.

A challenge I overcame on this project was, getting the Sphero ball to go in a straight line. I was able to do it by getting my hand to move perfectly still. Another thing we overcame was trying to connect the Ipad with the Sphero ball we had to do a long process but eventually we got it.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change what we would do for this project. The reason why I would change it is because we just did a free dive so next time we could make a small race track or a jump so it would be more fun.

My project connects to the business management CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in selling robots "Sphero" balls.
