What unique qualities will your project have?
our boat was triangle shaped
DAILY LOG
on day 1 we figured out the type of boat we were going for and if the dimensions would fit in it.
on day 2 we started the construction of our boat and conducted the first test.
On day 3 we continued to work on the construction of the boat and took videos. (I think the most pennies we fit in the boat was 112 but unfortunately that was not recorded.)
day 4 we went through footage and did one more test.
day 5 we started to work on the website getting everything situated.

Using foil, ruler, and scissors, I created a triangle shaped boat because we wanted the boat to look different.
During this process, I learned how to form the foil into a boat and make it float.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge constructer because I was able to research the way the mass can be evenly distributed and help it float.
challenge I overcame on this project was making the boat withstand a certain amount of pennies . I was able to do it by redoing the construction of the boat and making it better.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the shape of the boat. The reason why I would change it is because it was to much of a problem making a triangle boat float.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the construction trades CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in boat construction because I made a floatable boat able to withstand a good amount of weight.
